Mbappe saw red at Real Madrid win over Alaves

Kylian Mbappe was shown a red card during Real Madrid’s 1-0 victory over Alaves in the La Liga meeting on Sunday night.

It was Mbappe’s first red card since April 2019, and that was the first since joining Real Madrid this season.

Mbappe was originally shown a yellow card to capture high Antonio Blanco in the shin with late challenges, but it was increased to red after the VAR review.

Apart from his 38th way out, his team-mates survived to beat Alaves and return to four points from the Barcelona League leader.

Alaves also completed the game with 10 people because they had Manu Sánchez which was issued in 70 minutes.

Eduardo Camava gives Real Madrid the advantage of curved left legs from outside the penalty area in 34 minutes, and they survive to win.
