Mele Kyari shelves shot in great renovation at NNPC-Report



In a significant renovation of its management, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd has solved the services of a number of senior staff members, according to a Thecable relationship.

Among those at the start immediately are Bala Wunti, former leader of National Petroleum Investment Management Services (Napims) and Ibrahim Onoja, CEO of Kaduna’s refinery.

He also asked to leave was Lawal Sade, the Chief Compardical Officer and former CEO of NNPC Trading.

They are believed that they are very close to Mele Kyari, who has been removed as the CEO of the group (GCare) on April 2, 2025.

Thecable understands that over 200 employees have been affected, marking the beginning of what could be a series of changes in staff members.

This renovation has led to a greater representation of women in senior leadership roles, including the appointment of Maryam Idrisu as CEO of Trading NNPC – responsible for all crude oil transactions – and Obioma Abangwu as a connection director for issues of the Board of Directors.

The timobile also includes that the changes have been positively received by the staff members

The directors were fired four weeks after Bayo Ojulari took over from Kyari.

Three days after taking on the assignment, nnpc appointed eight -members a senior management team.
