Former Arsenal star Paul Merton has predicted Mikel Arteta’s side will be crowned Premier League champions after this weekend’s matches.
Arsenal will return to league action when they host Bournemouth at the Emirate Stadium on Saturday.
A victory for the Gunners will leave them 12 points clear of Manchester City, who will travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea.
The league leaders will head into this weekend’s clash against the Cherries fresh off a morale-boosting 1-0 win at Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday.

“I feel like people are getting a little carried away in promoting them for being unbeaten. If you don’t win enough games, there’s no point in my opinion. I personally think the race for the Premier League title will end this weekend. “I’m rooting for Arsenal to win, which means they’re 12 points clear of Manchester City.
“I don’t think City will beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. I predict a comfortable victory for Mikel Arteta’s team. Arsenal will be relieved to have at least a trophy in the bag after this weekend.”
