Lionel Messi and his teammate Inter Miami Jordi Alba each received a suspension of one match because he lost the All-Star Soccer Main League match earlier this week.
This duo was absent from the Wednesday event at Austin, Texas, where the MLS team won a 3-1 win over the All-Stars MX League.
“Per league rule, every player who does not participate in the All-Star game without previous approval from the league does not meet the requirements to compete in the next club match,” MLS said in a statement on Friday.

As a result, both of them will now miss the Miami home league match against FC Ringinnati on Saturday.
Argentine Legend Messi, 38, has scored 18 goals in many appearances for the Javier Mascherano team at MLS this season, while Alba, 36, has performed 19 times in the league.
This duo is also part of the Miami team’s round to the quarter -finals of the FIFA Club World Cup.
