Former Nigeria senior captain John Obi Mikel has hailed the addition of Fisayo Dele-Bashiru to the team’s midfield as a solution to the team’s long-standing search for a creative player, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Fisayo, who has four caps for Nigeria’s senior national team, announced himself in a competitive game for the Super Eagles with a goal in a 1-1 draw against South Africa in the World Cup qualifiers three months ago.

Mikel, who wore the same number for the Super Eagles during his playing days, says the newly signed Lazio player deserves to inherit the number made legendary by another former captain of the team, the legendary Austine Okocha.
