The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has named mixed martial arts (MMA) superstar Francis Ngannou as president of its new franchise in Africa.
MMA can now start its league on the continent.
PFL chief executive Peter Murray made the announcement during the league’s launch in Lagos on Wednesday.
Murray said the league would help develop the sport in Africa.
He stressed that the presence of PFL Africa will strengthen the sport through the organization and participation in a sports season format with a regular season, playoffs and championship with the best African fighters and all events, which will be held in Africa in 2025.
