Morocco became the first African team to qualify for 2026 World Cup

Morocco has secured their place at the FIFA 2026 World Cup, became the first African team to do it after a comfortable 5-0 victory of more than 10 Niger people in Rabat.

Atlas Lions, who is famous for reaching the semifinals in Qatar 2022, only requires three points to seal the qualifications from Group E.

Their path was previously signed on Friday when Tanzania was held in a 1-1 draw in Kongo-Brazzaville, leaving Morocco with two remaining matches.

Abdousul-Latif Gluumey from Niger was issued for violations that could be ordered both in the 26th minute and it gave way to rain goals.

Ismael Saibari scored while Ayoub El Kaabi, Hamza Igamane, and Azzedine Ounahi all also registered their names in goalscorers.

Eight more group winners in Africa qualifications are guaranteed to join Atlas Lions in the 2026 Final, with the four best runners-ups entering the play-offs for slots in the intercourse tournament.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles is still in a race for tickets, with South Africa leading Group C on 16 points from seven matches so far. Super Eagles will face Rwanda on Saturday.
