Moses Simon reaches a milestone in Ligue 1

Moses Simon has made 200 appearances in Ligue 1, becoming the second Nigerian player to reach that figure after John Utaka.

Simon reached that milestone in a goalless draw against RC Strasbourg.

Moses has been playing in Ligue 1 since 2019, spending six seasons with FC Nantes, where he played 177 Ligue 1 games, scoring 33 goals and providing 37 assists.

During his time at the club he helped them remain in the French top flight, winning the Coupe de France and qualifying for the UEFA Europa League.

He was also one of the most consistent players in the league during his time at Nantes, known for his pace, direct dribbling and creativity in the final third.

His performances made him a key figure for the club for several seasons.

This season he has made 23 Ligue 1 games for Paris FC, scoring three goals and giving two assists.

Simon has a record that stands out in Ligue 1, he is the first Nigerian to record 10 assists in a single Ligue 1 season, achieved in the 2024/25 campaign with Nantes.

On the international stage, Simon has played in four African Cup of Nations tournaments with Nigeria. He has earned 95 international caps for the Super Eagles since making his debut in 2015.
