A mother has been sentenced to life in prison after she kidnapped and traded her six -year -old daughter.
Kelly Smith, whose full name is Racquel Chantel Smith, his girlfriend Jacquen Appollis and their friend Steveno van Rhyn was punished for a crime in South Africa afterwards Joshlin Smith disappeared From Saldanha, at Western Cape, last year.
The young man has not been seen since then and has remained lost after the national police hunting.
During the trial, a witness said Smith told him that he sold his daughter to Sangoma, a traditional physician, for 20,000 rand (£ 830).
He added that the girl was sought because of his “eyes and skin”.
Three defendants previously claimed to be innocent.
Smith won the sympathy in South Africa on the early days of the loss of Joshlin and neighbors and even helped the police in their search efforts.
The mother claimed she had left Joshlin with Appollis on the day she disappeared, before Smith was also arrested.
In a court document, the prosecutor said Smith had planned to sell not only Joshlin, but two other children as well.
They also said Smith and Joshlin were seen entering a white vehicle with a bag of clothes on the day the girl was reported missing.

Announced their sentence on Thursday, High Court Judge Nathan Erasmus said the fact that Smith, Appollis and Van Rhyn were drug users not a reason.
“There is nothing I can find who redeem and deserves a lower punishment than the hardest one I can take,” the judge said.
