Murder: “We will no longer receive condolences with holes, speeches, or sterile press broadcasts’.

North Elder Forum (NEF)
has said that it will no longer forgive what is described as’ condolences with holes, tired speeches, or sterile press releases “from the federal government after a new wave of murder in the north.

Forum, in a statement by his spokesman, Prof. Abubakar Jiddere, said Nigerians deserve to get visible, aggressive, and accountable actions now to curb waves of murder and insecurity that are currently spreading throughout the north and other parts of the country.

NEF noted that especially the new murder of more than 20 troops by terrorists in the state of Niger, describing it as a clear declaration of war on the Nigerian state and strong evidence of security collapse in the north.

The forum, while condemning attacks and similar incidents in the highlands, Benue, Nasarawa and Zamfara, said they were part of the unrelenting terror campaign -stinging the northern region.

He also warned that the government’s laundry encouraged Nigerians to question their willingness or ability to protect their citizens.

“More than 20 men in uniforms, the defenders of the nation, slaughtered like animals by a group of good armed terrorists who launched a coordinated coordination ambush that really flooded the base,” the forum said.

“This is not just an attack, this is a declaration of war on the Nigerian state, and the state loses.

“From Benue to the highlands, from Kwara to Kaduna, and from Zamfara to Sokoto, Borno, and now Niger, what we see is not just insecure, it is a war zone. This is a mass murder, state failure, and the collapse of a stable national authority.

“The North Elder Forum will no longer receive condolences with holes, tired speeches, or sterile press releases. Nigeria deserves actions that are visible, aggressive, and accountable now.

“If the federal government continues to postpone, turn, or underestimate this crisis, the people of Nigeria will not have the choice but to believe, right or wrong, that this intentional is intentional, or worse, involved.

“The blood of the northern Nigerians is not cheap. Our soldiers are not cannon food. Our citizens will not continue to die quietly while the government is satisfied watching from a distance,” the statement added.
