Mutfwang accuses the Fulani militias of the genocide, ethnic cleaning in the plateau

The governor of the state of the plateau Caleb Mutfwang has accused the Fulani militias of having created an ethnic cleaning on the people of Zike and Kimakpa, in the area of โ€‹โ€‹the local bass government in which more than 50 people were killed, in new Sunday attacks.

Governor Mutfwang made the declaration in his broadcast on radio and television stations (Prtvc), saying: “enough is enough”, of the “coordinated and brutal attacks”.

โ€œIn the early hours of Sunday 13 April 2025, the peace of the Kwall district in the area of โ€‹โ€‹the local government of Bassa was destroyed by another lap of coordinated and brutal attacks.

“The armed attackers, suspected of being the Militia Fulani, descended on the peaceful communities of Zike and Kimakpa, unleashing unspeakable violence that claimed the life of no less than 45 people, including women, children and the elderly, without any form of provocation”, has Muti.

According to him, the houses were raked, destroyed properties, dozens of their people were inflicted with injuries and families in the middle of the night.

“This tragedy came at a time when the government and security agencies are already struggling with the consequences of similar carnage in the area of โ€‹โ€‹the local government of Bokkos, where, in the last few days, 52 lives have been lost and hundreds of houses have reduced to ash,” Mutfwang has.

He said that the lives of the people of the plateau count and: “We will no longer allow our communities to be transformed into killing fields. These are not isolated accidents. They are acts of coordinated terror aimed at instilling fear, moving our people and in the end by undermining our right to peacefully exist on our ancestral lands”.

Mutfwang said that attacks are not random accidents, but premeditated, coordinated and guided by a clear and left agenda.

“While the state has faced various forms of crime, such as the kidnappings and the rustle of cattle, the devastating violence many of our communities cannot be truly described as simple farmer clashes,” he said.

Mutfwang said that the narration of the farmer’s clashes is not only misleading and dangerous, but does not also risk the memory of those who are brutally murdered in cold blood.

“What we are witnessing is a calculated campaign of ethnic cleaning, an act that brings all the distinctive features of the genocide. Suggest otherwise is denying a gloomy and painful reality”, he “
