Governor Caleb Mutfwang from the highlands has vowed to implement full recommendations from the fact -finding committee formed to investigate the crisis of violence attacks during the two state decades and mass killings.
Speaking on Thursday when he hosted a member of the Nigerian editor’s union at the Rayfield government building in JOS, the governor promised to ensure that the report submitted by the committee would not be suspended or ignored.
“At the Fact Search Committee about insecurity in the state, which has just submitted the report, I can convince you that it will not collect dust,” Mutfwang said. “We will apply this report, and we also plan to make a series of findings with God’s grace.
One thing that is certain is that I will continue the report to the President. I will continue to the head of the security agent so that at least we can start speaking the same language and are on the same page. “
The 10-member panel, inaugurated in May 2025, was assigned to investigate the root causes of violence, identify the affected society, and measure human and material losses.

In a serious presentation on Wednesday, Chair of the Committee, Retired Major General Nicholas Rogers, revealed that 420 communities in 13 regional government territories suffered violent attacks between 2001 and May 2025, which resulted in more than 11,749 reported deaths.
“After weeks of working with difficulty, involving the affected community, working with security agents and reviewing the evidence submitted to us, we arrived at serious findings,” said Rogers.
“We determine that 420 communities in 13 LGA have suffered violent attacks between 2001 and May 2025.
Human costs are very surprising, with 11,749 lives reported missing in that period. These figures only represent which are officially reported to us; We believe the real number might be higher.
Outside of the loss of life, we document the destruction of the expanding livelihood. “
Governor Mutfwang noted that the problem of state security beyond surface level violence and is exacerbated by illegal mining and land grabbing.
The President of the Nigerian editor, Eze Anaba, praised the Governor’s efforts to restore peace and rebuild the affected community. He called for ongoing efforts to break the cycle of violence and bloodshed throughout the state.
