Federal Capital Region Minister (FCT), Nyesom Wike, stated that on Saturday the Governor of the State Rivers, Siminaayi Fubara, remained his political son despite the difference.
The couple fell towards the end of 2023 over the control of the political structure and other problems in an oil-rich country.
Bola President Tinubu suspended the Governor, his deputy and member of the Rivers State Council for six months in March over the prolonged crisis in the state.
In an interview with BBC Pidgin on Saturday, Wike rejected the claim of the feud between the two men.
The governor insisted that he could not fight his son, added that his problem was not against Fubara, but those who pushed the governor against him.

He said: “That is not a battle. He (Fubara) is my son, he is my child, why am I going to fight with him?
“I only struggle against people who want to steal what they don’t do.
“When you don’t defeat them, they will think you … beat them to the last stage.
“Now, they are ashamed because they are defeated. They are the people who pushed Fubara.”
