My husband gave me infection, he held me because I had to – business woman

A business woman, Joy Smart-Chinenye, revealed how it was arrested, brutalized, tortured and detained by the monitoring of the staff of the Unity of the headquarters of the Police Forces of Nigeria, based on a petition presented by her husband, George Obinna Smart Unegbu, on an alleged debt with him.

It is said that the accident, which took place on Sunday (Mother’s Day), has aroused a serious drama, the wild sentence and is already causing ripples between the police hierarchy.

His explanation was contained in a declaration issued by his lawyer, Ifeanyi EjioFor, entitled “Betrayed, tortured and extorted: the cruelty of my husband knows no limits”, obtained from journalists to Abuja.

EjioFor, also a lawyer of Biafra’s indigenous people (iPob), in his reaction to police brutality, described the police action as unconstitutional.

According to him, section 4 of the Nigeria Police Act clearly outlines the duties of the NPF, providing for any provision for the recovery of the debt.

Joy Smart-Chinenye said: “While I write this, I am in serious agony, tears and unbearable pain. While mothers from all over the world celebrated maternal Sunday, my husband, the man who once loved and supported, threw me in detention of abbey to Abuja-a well-known structure to retain condemned criminals, branches and terrorists.

“This is the same man I met when he was just a class teacher. I was next to him, I had it, I supported him financially and looked at while God raised him to a multimiliary. But how did he repaid me? Fanding myself brutalized, arrested and closed in one of the most feared cells in the country.

“Despite my constant loyalty and loyalty during our marriage, he slept with single and married women, exposing myself to multiple infections. I endured humiliation and betrayal in silence, keeping our married questions outside the eyes of the public, but continues to find a way to destroy me.

“This time, his weapon was the police forces of Nigeria. He manipulated them in arrest for an alleged debt – a personal and civil question that should have been resolved in court, not through the brutality of the police.

“On March 27, 2025, the officers stormed our home, took me forcefully in front of our children and held me to the FCID Annex, Panti, Lagos, where I was tortured and forced to transfer ₦ 5 million on an account they provided.

“When I was unable to meet his remaining requests, I was strongly transported to Abuja, where I was held by Matto, enduring further abuses, torture and extortion.

“I was repeatedly taken from the SARS detention cell at night to unknown places, where I underwent intense coercions and intimidation. These excruciating experiences continued until the timely intervention of the lawyer Ifeanyi EjioFor (IC EjioFor Chambers), whose incessant legal efforts have finally ensured my release in the hours of last night. But the chair. But the chair.

“I can no longer be silent. In debt time, I will grant a press release and expose the full truth about Obinna George Smart Unegbu. The world deserves to know.”
