β 89.000 EXAMPLE candidates
The Chancellor and the CEO of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (Nabteb), Dr. Mohammed Aminu Mohammed said that the exams conducted by the agency are on par with those of Waec, Neco and Nbais.
He also said that over 89,000 candidates are sitting for Nabteb exams throughout the country this year, unlike over 60,000 in 2024.
He said that candidates in difficult safety areas have been transferred to secure places by some states to write their documents.
He praised the Governor of the State of Kaduna, the Senator UBA Sani, for having provided security support to candidates in the areas at risk of crisis to take the current Nabteb exams.
Mohammed, who spoke, shortly after monitoring the ongoing exams at the Government Technical College (GTC), Malali, Kaduna, expressed the trust that the most candidates would have embraced the Nabteb exams.
βThis is a national exam like any other. It started on June 16 and will last until July 14, 2025. Over 89,000 candidates are sitting for exams across the country and we are carefully monitoring compliance and standards.
βNabteb’s exams are on par with Waec, Neca and Nbais. It is left to all schools to exploit our standard exams. Muhammad has praised the governor Sani for transferring students from the challenging areas of safety to Kaduna to write their documents.
He said that the governor took the proactive measures by moving candidates from the local government area of ββKajuru, a well -known insecurity point, to safer centers in the city without any formal request from Nabteb.
βI have to honestly praise the government of the state of Kaduna. Without any suggestions, the governor assured that all Kajuru candidates had been transferred safely to write the exams here in Kaduna City.
“It is a commendable effort and an example worthy of emulation by other states,” he said.
On the insecurity that deals with other states, Mohammed revealed that Nabteb advised the authorities of the state of Zamfara to take into consideration the replica of the Kaduna model by transferring candidates from high -risk rural areas to urban centers for their safety.
He described the conduct of the exams at the Kaduna Center as credible and orderly, praising the school’s examinations for their commitment to maintain integrity.
The chief of Nabteb, however, has raised concern about the poor infrastructure at the Malali Center, where he observed some students who write their documents while they were standing or crouched due to the lack of places.
“It is worrying to see the students who write exams in such conditions. This type of situation creates space for negligence. But I talked to the principal and we are starting a working relationship to face these problems. At this point next year, I believe that this center will witness a significant improvement,” he added.
Responding to journalists, the principal of the Government Technical College, Malali, in Monday, confirmed that 169 candidates were recorded this year.
“So far, the exams have gone without hitches despite our infrastructure challenges. We do not have enough places, but the materials have arrived in time and we took charge of the process.”
He described the visit of the Registration as a “blessing”, saying that he provided valuable indications on innovation and development.
“The advice to establish a technical and professional education center (tvet) in our college is a welcome idea. We also embraced the push to update our computer center in preparation for future computer -based tests. Let’s not miss this opportunity,” said the principal.
