The wedding ceremony held by bandits in the forest in the state of Zamfara ended with a disaster for gang members as an attack by the air component of Yamma fan operations under the Nigerian Air Force, making many of them die.
The counter-sacrifice and security expert, Zagazola Makama, who shared news about its X grip on Thursday, said the Nigerian Air Force launched a successful air strike at a major meeting of armed bandits who attended a wedding ceremony in the forest in Asaula Hills, in Yankuzo Ward in the local government of Tsafe in the state.
He stated that the precision strikes carried out on Tuesday afternoon, were based on credible intelligence that revealed that a number of bandits from different pockets gathered at Asaula Hill, a sturdy and tall terrain for mass wedding ceremonies.
“Exactly 14:44 hours, the field report confirmed the existence of a large number of heavy armed bandits, some in more than 100 motorbikes, gathered at the location,” he wrote, quoting military sources.
“In response, Yamma’s fanan air component, under the command of Nigerian Air Force 2, immediately uses fighter jets to involve the target.
“The strike was executed around 16:00 and surprised the criminals at the peak of the celebration.
“The marriage united the bandits factions from Faskari and Kankara LGA in the state of Katsina, and other pockets in Zamfara. Dozens were neutralized instantly, while many others were seriously injured. The survivors were seen evacuating injured to Yankuzo Village for treatment.
“Further reconnaissance and follow -up intelligence show that at least 10 bodies that can be identified are found on the night of strikes, while several others are burned outside of recognition.
“Local informants report that no less than 33 injured bandits receive emergency care at a comprehensive health center in Yankuzo and in the nearest hamlet.
“It is believed that the number of deaths may be higher, given the scale of meeting and bombing intensity.
“Some injured bandits were secretly treated by health workers who did not meet the requirements. It was recommended that land forces carry out the release operation both at the strike site and at the recovery points suspected of such as Yankuzo Village,” he added.
