Naf killed the Iswap Commander, foot soldier in Borno Airstrike

The Hadin Kai (OPHK) operating air component has killed several commanders and fighters of the West African Province (ISWAP) in air strikes in the Lake Chad region.

Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force (Naf), Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, revealed this in a statement on Monday in Abuja.

Ejodame said the mission, which was carried out on Sunday, targeted Arina Woje, the famous Iswap pocket in the southern southern Borno, which is known as a protection place for rebel leaders.

He added that the strike follows a series of credible intelligences, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) who confirmed the return of terrorist elements to the area after the recent inter-actional clash.

The spokesperson said: “ISR data revealed significant terrorist activities, including foot soldier movements, structural reactivation, and hiding possibilities for command centers and logistics depots under dense leaves.

“Acting based on credible intelligence, Naf’s air assets were sent to carry out a focused strike mission. Aircrew at the arrival obtained and demanded the previously chosen target using the ammunition guided by the precision, achieved a destroying effect.

“The evaluation of the preliminary battle discussed reveals the destruction of several housing structures of the ISWAP leader, fighters, and logistics storage facilities, effectively disrupting group operational planning and efforts to supply in the region.”
