National Agency for Administration and Control of Medicines and Medicines (Nafdac) on Friday sealing illegal herbal medicine production facilities in the State of Kaduna.
Facilities, known as Shifa’unnur, are located in Mararaba Jos, the region of the Igabi Regional Government in the state.
Head of Head of Head Nafdac, Mr. Shamsuddeen Mani, who led the operation, told reporters that the facility was closed because it failed to meet the minimum operational standards.

He added that the facility also operated without registration.
Mani said: “We act quickly based on credible intelligence and crack down on illegal herbal medicine facilities in Mararaba, Jos.
“It is very worrying that all the equipment used in unhygienic and hidden settings is below the standard. These products pose a serious health risk due to safety, quality, and efficacy cannot be guaranteed.”
Nafdac officials revealed that non -registered products worth N5 million were confiscated and would be destroyed, while the facility was still sealed while waiting for further investigation.
