Nathan Tella Ends Goal Drought

New Super Eagles invitee, Nathan Tella finally registered a goal in the Bundesliga, scoring in Bayer Leverkusen’s resounding 4-0 triumph over Union Berlin on Sunday.

Tella, introduced with just nine minutes remaining, made an instant impact, sealing the victory with a remarkable strike in his sixth league appearance.

 

The former Southampton forward then netted in the 83rd minute, to complete Leverkusen’s commanding performance.

His outstanding performance in the Bundesliga this season earned him his first call-up to represent the Super Eagles in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

 

Meanwhile, the victory propels Bayer Leverkusen to the summit of the Bundesliga standings just before the international break.

 

Under the guidance of Xabi Alonso, the Leverkusen has impressive record, boasting 10 wins, one draw, and zero defeats in the Bundesliga this season.

 

With 34 goals scored and only 10 conceded, the team’s dominance is undeniable.
