Twenty -five Cadet Players throughout Nigeria participate in intensive training sessions and competitive matches in the National Stadium in Lagos.
The program aims to select a team of four members to represent Nigeria in the week and the Challenge of Hope of Africa 2025, also scheduled to take place in Lagos.
The training sessions are led by Coaches certified by ITTF, including the IFEOMA ISAAC coach, with the support of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and ITTF Africa.
The approach has focused on improving the fundamental techniques of players and tactical consciousness.
“We realized that players lacked feet games and reverse skills. In the last six days, we have trained them and we hope that such exercises will become regular to guarantee constant progress,” said coach Isaac.
Coach Ganiyu Kadiri praised the commitment of the participants, highlighting his enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. “We believe that with continuous training, our players can compete internationally,” he said.
Young athletes expressed their gratitude to NTTF and ITTF Africa for the opportunity, describing the program as a crucial step in their development and future success in sport.
The final team of four players is expected to be announced on April 7, since Nigeria prepares to present a competitive team in the week and the Hopes Challenge of Africa 2025.
