AUGUST 1ST PROTEST: MANAGEMENT ORDERS STAFF AND STUDENTS TO STAY OFF CAMPUS

In view of the nationwide protest scheduled to commence on *Thursday, 1st August 2024*, the management of the university, following a meeting held on *Wednesday, 31st July 2024*, hereby orders all staff and students of the university to remain off campus on *Thursday, 1st August 2024*.

The directive aims to protect the lives and property of university staff and students for the duration of the protest.

Against this backdrop, the Lagos State University Students’ Union general elections, scheduled to commence on Thursday, August 1, 2024, are hereby suspended until further notice.

Further information on the resumption of socio-academic and administrative activities of the university will be provided in due course.

The management urges all members of the university community to remain calm and ensure their safety during the national protest.
