Nigerian Correctional Service (NCOS) has offered N5 million cash prizes for credible information that leads to the recent resistance of prisoners who recently fled from the medium security detention center in Ilesha, Osun state.
At least seven prisoners escaped the facility on Tuesday.
Service community service officer, Abubakar Umar, announced the action in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
He said the gift was part of an effort to encourage public cooperation in tracking prisoners who fled and ensure their fast returns to legitimate detention.
A spokesman appealed to community members to help by reporting useful information to the nearest security agent.
