The closing ceremony marked the end of a five -week initiative designed to provide participants with digital and professional skills.

CDRE Tanko Lengaya, director of the coordination for the program that represented the commander of the NDA, the major general Abdul Khalifa Ibrahim, at the event, said that the program, initially foreseen for 250 participants, recorded an overwhelming turnout, reflecting what the organizers described as “Hunger for know -how and Empowerment” within the Barracks community.

Participants were trained in digital marketing, web development, graphic design, computer security and digital literacy, together with creative crafts such as knitwear and bags of bags. Weekly sessions also presented lessons in entrepreneuriality, financial literacy, character development, awareness of light weapons and awareness of drug abuse.

The NDA commander said that the program was more than a training exercise. “It was a journey of transformation, the birth of renewed vision, ability and discipline in our participants,” said, appreciating the commander of the NDA, the high officials and the members of the Ndawa for their support.

Some beneficiaries expressed hope that the skills acquired would open the doors to opportunities if supported with further support. Mrs. Ebun, leader of the group of widows in NDA, noticed that many widows and orphans participated.

“If they learn in this way and remain without anything to continue, it could stop here. But with subsidies or media, they can grow what they have learned,” he appealed.

One of the participants, Salim Muhammad Awal, who was formed in computer security, said that the program inspired him to continue further studies.

“I learned to prevent harmful attacks on computers and safe Internet networks. I intend to go further in computer security and continue to learn online,” he said.

The program also presented a film session that model and interactive platforms for continuous tutoring, with the organizers who commit themselves to expanding the area in the following editions.
