Ndlea captured the fugitive drug baron after 3 years, the ₦ opioid trap worth 7.8 billion in the river

The National Medicine Law Enforcement Agency (Ndlea) has recorded a big breakthrough with the arrest of the famous drug kingpin on Sunday Ibigide, after avoiding arrest for three years.

The 36 -year -old suspect, who has been running since March 19, 2022, was traced at the Delta State on August 10, 2025. According to a spokesman for Ndlea, Femi Babafemi, Ibigide was sought in connection with 24,137kg of marijuana and 10 grams of molly three years ago. He was finally arrested while trying to distribute 250 sigung cannabis blocks weighing 138kg on the distribution bus. His accomplice, Clement Osuya, who was 27 years old, was also arrested.

In a separate attack in the state of Enugu, the Ndlea operator, supported by the military and local residents, invaded three cannabis farms in Enugu Ezike, destroying plants weighing more than 37,500kg spread across 15 hectares. Six suspects were arrested in connection with illegal plantations, while 74.5 kg of marijuana was secured for prosecution.

Patrol officers in the same state also intercepted drug delivery on August 16. A suspect, Emmanuel Ayogu (53), was arrested with 20,700 Tramadol and Cocodamol pills. The other two, Nsubechukwu Achidde (24) and Osiaja Frank (41), were captured with 27.6 kg of skunk in the New Market.

In lagos, operative uncovered a family drug trafficking ring, arresting 52-year-Old Muyibat Mumuni and Her Son, Faruk Mumuni (25), with 298 blocks of ghana loud cannabis weighing 149kg at Mushin on August Nabbed in Ajah, Lekki, with 8.5kg of Canadian Loud.

Meanwhile, one of the biggest operations of this year’s agency took place at Onne Port, Rivers State, where Ndlea, worked with customs and other security agents, intercepted five containers during a joint inspection between August 13 and 14. The operation produced 875,000 bottles of trophy code syrup more than ₦ 6.1 billion, along with 3.5 million PLAM.

Other confiscations throughout the country include:

– Edo state: 432kg cannabis found along Jalan Warake -Auchi, and other 130kg in Sobe, Owan West Lga.
– Kano State: Two traders, Tahiru Manga (25) and Ibrahim Audu (47), were arrested with 92kg of marijuana along the Zaria -Kankano road.

Ndlea has reiterated his determination to dismantle the criminal drug network in Nigeria and ensure that fugitives like Ibigide were finally taken to court.
