Operation of the National Medicine Law Enforcement Agency (Ndlea), has arrested a 43 -year -old woman, Mary Adekoya, who was on his way to India for fibroid operations with 2.20 kilograms of cocaine hidden on the wall of her bag.
Ndlea spokesman, Femi Babafemi, who confirmed the arrest of Adekoya, said he was arrested on Monday, June 16, 2025, at the Murtala Muhammated International Airport (MMIA) Ikeja Lagos underneath was placed on a presentation ship and was allowed to examine his suitcase before being transferred at the council.
In a statement released on Sunday, Babafemi said Adekoya, who claimed to be a makeup artist, after being interrogated
Tell the operators that he traveled to India for fibroid operations.
“The suspect was arrested on Monday, June 16, 2025, based on credible intelligence. Under supervision, Adekoya was allowed to examine his goods and be arrested at the point of riding his Qatar Airways flight to India through Doha,” Babafemi said in the statement.

“When his luggage was searched, two large packages of cocaine weighing 2.20kg were found to be hidden on the walls of the suitcase he was carrying.
“In his statement, he claimed he began his journey to get financial benefits but under the pretext of going to India for surgery to remove fibroids from his stomach.
“Further investigations revealed that the suspect was recruited and funded by a drug baron at this time, Akeem Ayinde Adekan, who has a Rockford Hotel located in the Sango area in the Ogun state while he lives in IGBE Laara in the Igbogbo area in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
