The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (Ndlea) has destroyed 1.6 million kilograms of illegal drugs in the state of Ogun.
Ndlea Commander in the state, Tijau Rabe, oversees training on Saturdays in the city of Ipara along the freeway in the Lagos-Ibadan barrier.
He said the exercise was the first of his type in the state of Ogun.
Ndlea’s command takes drugs under zone 9 and 11.
This includes the Strategic Command of the State of Lagos, the Ogun State Command, the Oyo State Command, the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Command (MMIA), Lagos Seaports, Idiroko, and the Seme border command.
Rabe praised Nigerian police, Nigerian Civil Defense and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Army, Nigerian Immigration Services (NIS), and Amotekun for their strong support in the ongoing war on drugs.
The Ndlea Commander also thanked the Governor of Dapo Abiodun for his continuous support for the campaign against drug abuse in the state.
“This government support encourages us to do more. Baron drugs are identified and brought to court,” he added.
