Ndume urged Tinubu to maintain the head of service, reject the call to be deleted

Ali Ndume, Senator, who represented Borno South, has advised the President of the Tinubu Bola to ignore the call to dismiss the head of state services, insisting that they need greater support than transfer.

Ndume, a former senate leader, made a statement in a statement issued on Thursday in response to demands by the North Ethnic National Forum, who had urged the president to fire military leaders for alleged inability.

On Tuesday, Dominic Alancha, the organizer of the forum, accused the Head of Services of not having a professional capacity of leading the struggle against rebellion and bandits, despite the substantial budget allocation for the security sector.

Nduume, however, rejects the claim as “strange and unrenetrated,” on the grounds that the armed forces have the training and experience needed but require more resources, prosperity, and motivation to provide optimal results.

“Those who pushed the sack of harvesting the head of service currently have hidden motives and do not mean good for the current government or Nigeria,” Nduume said.

He reiterated his call for what he described as a “proactive team approach, training, equipment, ammunition, and motivation,” notes that these elements are very important to effectively fight terrorism, bandits, and rebellions.

Senator also expressed concern over the welfare of the army, showing that a person produces around ₦ 100,000 every month with a daily allowance ₦ 5,000, which he described as inadequate.

“People must quit the announcement that can reduce the morals of the army and our officers in the field of operations,” he said.

Furthermore and more praised President Tinubu for what he called “a sense of ethno-religious balance” in the current security architecture, emphasizing that service leaders deserve to have sustainable support to maintain military operations.
