Neither Chelle nor Saintfeit: NFF opts for a mysterious choice as new coach of the Super Eagles

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has abandoned plans to appoint one of the pair of Eric Chelle and Tom Saintfeit as the new head coach of the Nigerian senior national team, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

The technical committee met yesterday to discuss the urgent matter of a new coach for the Super Eagles with the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations games against Benin Republic and Rwanda respectively just around the corner, but they were presented with a completely new option.

We noticed that the meeting that was supposed to make a firm decision on one of the two coaches came to a premature end, when the members were informed of a totally different choice as the team’s coach, which was expected to be made public soon.

Handpicked by President Ibrahim Musa Gusau, the new man is said to have the blessing of Sports Minister Senator John Enoh, who opposed the idea of one of the two front-runners for the post being Chelle and Saintfeit.

His identity was not revealed to the committee and some details of his contract have not yet been finalised. There is a chance that everything will be ready by the weekend, before his presentation next week.
