Nema responded to the deadly attack of the highlands, said 1,820 was displaced

After a terrible attack that claimed at least 52 lives and evacuated more than 1,820 people in the State Highlands, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with the State Emergency Management Agency, has launched a rapid assessment of affected communities.

The attack, which occurred between March 27 and April 2, 2025, villages targeted within the Bokkos Regional Government, including Ruwi, Hurti, Tadai, Gwande, Manguna, and Dafo. Nema, in a statement released on his X account, confirmed brutal attacks and broad destruction.

“At the same time, the settings are being completed for the delivery of assistance materials approved by the Federal Government, in line with the direction of the President of the President Ahmed Tinubu, to provide rapid humanitarian assistance to the victims,” ​​Nema stated, emphasizing the urgency of the situation. “In addition, the high -level team of the NEMA headquarters, led by the Director General, is on the way to the State of the highlands to strengthen the sustainable effort by the Zonal Nema office in JOS. This visit aims to further coordinate assistance interventions and ensure an efficient and timely response.”

The agency’s assessment reveals the extent of the transfer. “Three displacement camps have been established in Daffo, Hurti, and Gwande, while others are currently organized by the local community,” Nema reported.

The President of the Tinubu Soccer has vowed to bring the perpetrators to the court. “I have directed security agents to hunt down the attackers, and they will face severe punishment when arrested,” Tinubu said in a statement by special advisors about information and strategies, Bayo Onanuga.

Tinubu also expressed his condolences to the state government and Governor Caleb Mutfwang. “He convinced Mutfwang for his support in ending a series of naughty bloodsheds in the highlands,” the statement added.
