“New Lookman” – Atalanta closes to an agreement to sign Nigerian U-20 winger Bidemi

Italian Serie A side Atalanta are closing in on a deal to sign Nigerian U20 winger Bidemi Amole from Nigerian academy Real Sapphire, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Dubbed the new Lookman due to his similar playing style and similar role to senior international Ademola Lookman, who also played for the Italian team, the left winger who turned 18 in November was part of the Nigeria U20 squad under coach Aliyu Zubairu, playing in seven matches with one goal to his name.

According to the respected Italian publication TMW, Atalanta is in advanced talks to sign him and expects the deal to be closed in the next few hours.

They saw competition from other teams to obtain his services, and he will start from their youth team, where his progress will be followed for a possible promotion to the main team starting with the preseason in the summer.

Expectations are that he will equal or surpass the feat of Lookman, who left the club in the January transfer window for Atlético Madrid as a club icon, with his most memorable performance coming in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, where his hattrick earned them their first European trophy.
