New Rivers LGA interim chairman appoints 100 SAs

The Interim Chairman of Obio-Akpor Local Government in Rivers State, Chijoke Ihunwo, has made many laugh with the appointment of 100 Special Assistants a few weeks after his inauguration by Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Ihunwo who was appointed by Fubara on June 19 after a long struggle by former board members, inaugurated the Special Assistants on Thursday and tasked them to work with the vision of the state governor.

“As the executive chairman of Obio-Akpor local government in Rivers state, I have approved the appointment of one hundred special assistants,” Ihunwo wrote on his X account.

“While congratulating the newly inaugurated officials, I urge them to work effectively and focus on my development agenda, and in line with the vision of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

“As the Interim Chairman of Obio-Akpor local government in Rivers State, a socio-political group, One Million Youths For Sim has appointed me as its BOT Chairman.

“The group conducted the public adoption at an open event in Port Harcourt on Thursday,” he added.

He mentioned the names of some of the people appointed, namely Clement Ifelen Nwaru, Augusta Dafugbo Jaja, Bariasa Juliet Doba, Chigozie Emmanuel Esinuelo, Stella Nkechi Worlu and Ogbonna Ezinne Stella.

Others are Charity O. Amadi, Ejekwu Theresa Nkiruka, Ijeoma Wosu, Orlu Grace Oluchi, Emilia Seibidor, Silverline Oluchi, Blessing Worlu, Blessing Ndidi Chinda and Wosu Elizabeth Obinuchi.
