The heavyweight teenage phenomenon, Moses Itauma, illuminated the 65 celebrations of Nigeria’s Independence Day with more than its presence.
The 19 -year -old heavyweight prodigy, whose father comes from Nigeria, landed in Lagos on Tuesday and made his first public appearance on Independence Day, at a press conference full of anticipation and patriotic pride.

In the heart of his visit was a historical announcement, an association with Bet9ja To give new life to base boxing in Nigeria.
The center of collaboration is the renewal and reopening of some boxing facilities backed by the Bet9ja Foundation in line with the vision and objectives of the Foundation.
The project promises that aspiring Nigerian boxers have access to modern facilities, tutoring and roads towards the global stage.
Speaking with passion and clarity, Itauma described the depth of the initiative:
“Together with the Bet9JA Foundation, we will present a series of programs in the next few days,* Itama began.
“One of the immediate steps is to connect with base talents in the boxing facilities that we plan to renew and reopen.”
“This is more than just infrastructure, it is about creating opportunities and inspiring the next generation.”
For Itauma, the visit carried a personal resonance. He shared an emotional encounter of his arrival:
“At the airport yesterday, a security guard asked if my belts were really mine. When I told him yes, and that my father is Nigerian, he said I was proud of me, even without knowing half of my complete story. That moment reminded me how powerful it is to be here, feel this connection.”
Bet9ja, equally enthusiastic for the association, praised the arrival of Itauma as a symbol of hope for Nigerian boxing.

Who is Moses Itauma?
Born in 2005 in a Nigerian father and a Slovak mother, Moses Itauma has increased with meteoric speed through the rows of heavyweight.
Blessed with the thunderous power and an advanced boxing IQ, the left -hander recorded his name in history by ensuring the world youth titles when he was a teenager.
His intrepid domain has often made comparisons with Mike Tyson, and many promote him as the heir to the heavyweight throne of boxing.
I still undefeated at 20, 11 kos in 13 fights, Itauma is more than a prodigy in search of titles.
