New York celebrates the 65th anniversary of Nigeria, requires inclusive policies

The Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC), the organization for young Apex in Nigeria, invited governments and other parties interested in aiming for the inclusion and enhancement of young people.

This was contained in the discourse of celebration of the day of the independence of 2025 held by its president, Eng. Jethro Annum, in Abuja, with the theme; Hope for diversity, equity and inclusion (Hope Dey).

In his speech, Engr. Jethro greeted the “65 years of infraction of brotherhood” of Nigeria “, adding that” the challenges of the past should inspire us, but they must not define us as a nation. Today’s difficulty should rather give us power and not destroy us and the hope for a better country should energize us rather than to guide us rather than to guide us to despise.

“NYC recognizes the challenges that are around our dear country today and, in line with the mandate of the congress, we are asking all the Nigerians young people to persevere in hope, aware of the fact that the task of national build is an onerous, which requires patience, sacrifice and collective efforts of all citizens in a patriotic way.

“The emergence of different initiatives and programs for youth pursuant to the renewed agenda of the hope of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not only commendable but pragmatic. While marginal progress is obvious, but it is necessary to do more to face unemployment, undertaking and to ensure equity and inclusion especially for the young Nigerian young”.

The Council equally accused young people and Nigerian leaders of “exploiting the potentials of our national diversity as a source of strength, a prerequisite for social justice, equity and inclusion in a country that is grappling with issues of cohesion and equity”.

According to Engr. Jethro, “The FG must look for a thorough collaboration with youth organizations that can be respected with data, the structure and the ability to translate policies into shares, developing age -cut solutions to the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century. For example, the 250,000 free recordings for MSME must be managed by effectiveness for effectiveness”

He concluded by asking the young Nigerians “to put aside the tribal and religious differences to join the struggle to build a great nation that can be proudly left inheritance to our children with the conscience that the task of building the country is exclusively ours”.
