Diamond arrived in Kingston Park in January 2024 and led Newcastle through a difficult period with the club blocked at the bottom of the League, managing only two victories from 25 championship games.

The previous owner Sebere Kurdi put the club for sale last November, and it was not until August that global energy drinks the Red Bull giants completed his acquisition.

An entire series of players has arrived in a short period of time, but this is by far the most significant decision made by the new owners.
