The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed Aliyu Zubairu as the head coach of Nigeria’s U-20 men’s football team, Flying Eagles.
The appointment of Zubairu, who led Maiduguri’s El-Kanemi Warriors to victory in the President’s Federation Cup against Abia Warriors FC in Lagos in June, is effective immediately.
He also masterminded the promotion of the Maiduguri club to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Zubairu’s main task is to assemble and prepare the team for the WAFU B U-20 Championship.
Togo will host the competition between October and November 2024.
The zone’s representatives for next year’s U-20 Africa Cup of Nations will appear at the competition.
