President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, has expressed his joy over the flying eagles qualification for the FIFA U-20 2025 World Cup.
Nigeria’s side, who was the seven-time champion, advanced after the defending champion Senegal 3-1 with a penalty in their quarter-final match in 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Monday.
Gusau has also asked the team to now channel their attention to win the Afcon Cup.
Goalkeeper Ebenezer Harcourt appeared as a hero, making two important rescue during the shootout to secure victory.

After victory, Gusau urged the team to shift focus to win the tournament.
“Tickets to the World Cup are the first destination and we have achieved it. The second destination is to win the trophy, and after congratulating the team for their efforts, I have reminded them that the country is waiting for them to bring the trophy home,” Gusau told THENFFF.com.
Coach Aliyu Zubairu’s squad will now face the quarter -finals of South Africa vs Dr. Kongo at the semifinal fixture scheduled for Thursday at Ismailia.
