The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially announced the appointments of Manu Garba and Moses Aduku as chief coaches of the U17 and U20 national teams, respectively.
Veterans tactics return to the roles of the national team when Nigeria points to the World Cup qualification at the youth level, in September.
The decision, ratified by the NFF Executive Committee, followed the recommendations of the Technical and Development Subcommittee of the Federation aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s youth soccer structure with experienced leadership.
Manu Garba returns to Golden Eaglets
Manu Garba, the man who guided the golden eagles of Nigeria to the glory of the FIFA U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates in 2013, received the reins once again.
Garba, a venerated figure in Nigerian youth football, returns to the role he has played twice separately, more recently leading the team to the 2019 U17 World Cup in Brazil.
The coach’s immediate task will be to prepare the team for the WAFU B U17 Children’s Tournamentthat Nigeria will organize in September.
The competition will serve as a qualifier for the Cup of Nations 2025 U17 Africa, an entrance door to the next FIFA World Cup U17.
Moses Aduku called the Falconet Chief Coach
The NFF also confirmed the appointment of Moses Aduku As coach of the National Women’s Team U20, the Halcosreplacement Christopher Danjuma.
Aduku is widely respected in Nigeria’s women’s football circles. Has handled the best NWFL clubs as Bayels Queens and Queens Edoand served as an assistant coach with the falcones during his impressive career towards him Quarter-Finals of the FIFA Women’s Cup U20 2022 In Costa Rica.
Aduku will take the falconets to 2026 FIFA U20 Classification of the Women’s World CupStarting with a two -legged crucial tie against Rwanda in September.
Official resumption and mandate
Both Garba and Aduku are scheduled to Officially resume his roles on Sundaygiving them enough time to start preparations for challenges ahead.
The NFF expects both men to contribute their deep knowledge, technical experience and trajectory proven in their respective teams as Nigeria points to Successful qualification campaigns.
