Nff Push for FIFA to deduce three points from South Africa for presenting an inelegable player against Lesotho

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has begun to establish a case against South Africa to present a not eligible player at Theboho Mokoena in his 2-0 victory over Lesotho during the last round of games in the World Cup qualifiers, reports Owngoalnigeria.com.

Mokoena was supposed to be suspended for the game on Friday after collecting two yellow cards in previous games. On day 1 of the game, he was yellow carded against Benin Republic in the 54th minute, and collected another reserve in the 52nd minute in the game of day 4 against Zimbabwe.

According to the disciplinary page of the 2026 World Cup preliminary rules, it was supposed to be suspended by accumulated reservations, but played for 81 minutes. A movement that could probably cost three points and three goals.

A member of the NFF Board says they are aware of the situation and that their internal works have already begun to explore the situation, which will make the group’s leaders lose three points and fall to seven points if they are guilty.

Nigeria suffered the same destination when they presented Shehu Abdullahi in a game against Algeria in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers and made them lose the only point they won in the game that ended 1-1, when it was discovered that Shehu should have been suspended by the game.
