NFF repeated support for Chelle after the victory of the Unity Cup

The President of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, has expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance in the Unity Cup invitational tournament that has just been concluded.

Super Eagles appeared champions after they won two matches – against Black Stars of Ghana and The Reggae Boys of Jamaica.

Nigeria defeated Ghana 2-1 in the semifinals before defeating Jamaica 5-4 with a penalty in the final, after the match ended 2-2 in normal time.

“First of all, that is the essence of this type of tournament. We need several months to unite this, and it aims to allow coaches to see some new players,” Gusau after Super Eagles won over Jamaica

He added: “As you know, he was appointed less than a month before the World Cup qualification, so he had no choice but to work with the players he met on the ground.”

Gusau also considers that Super Eagles has a big future ahead by the quality of players on the team.

“With what we see in these two matches, we are happy and excited. We see hope,” added Gusau.

“I believe that every Nigerian who loves football to see what is happening in London. This gives us a glimpse of the hard work by the coach to build the Super Eagles team that we can rely on.”
