How much does an NFL referee make?
Before I get into the details, let me tell you that referees’ salaries are governed by an agreement between the NFLRA (NFL Referees Association) and the union body that represents them. As far as I know, they signed the last contract in 2019, which will remain in effect until 2026. If you take a look at the previous agreements, you will get an idea of ββhow much a referee earns.

Under the previous agreement, signed in 2011, match officials were paid an average of $149,000, meaning their pay rose 38% in 2019 and will continue to rise in the future.
It is worth noting that each NFL referee is entitled to referee 19 games per season. This also includes clinics and preseason matches.

How much do NFL referees make per game?
Now let me tell you how much they earn per match. Well, their salaries per match depend on their experience. Simply put, referees with more experience are entitled to a higher salary than those without experience.
Based on my research, I can say that NFL referees with two or fewer years of experience earn around $1000 per game. On the other hand, referees who have five or more years of experience earn around $3000 per game.
Referees who have been in the profession for decades are paid up to $10,000 per game.
How much does an NFL referee make for the Super Bowl?
I’m sure you all know what the Super Bowl is. It’s the American version of American football. Now that you have an idea about the base salary of NFL referees for the season’s games, you might be wondering if they get paid more during the Super Bowl.
As far as I know, specific details about their salary are not disclosed. However, they do receive a bonus for officiating Super Bowl games. According to DashTickets magazine, NFL referees receive up to $205,000 for officiating games. However, that changes every time they renew their contract. As for the Super Bowl, their salary and bonus range from $54,428 to $462,622.
