NGX: The equity market recovered because investors get N405BN

The Nigerian equity market recovered from yesterday’s loss because investors received the N405B on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, after five hours of trading.

This follows the surge in stock prices such as Associated Bus Transport PLC (ABCTRANS), Beta Glass PLC (Betaglas) and Berger Paints PLC (Berger), among others, on the trading floor.

The Benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) increased to 114,659.11 points from 114,017.48 points recorded on the previous trading day.

After five hours of trading in the capital market, the capitalization of equity grew to N72, 302 trillion from N71,897 trillion from which the exchanges were recorded on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 after the Sallah holiday.

The extent of the positive market because 33 shares advanced, 28 shares declined, and 61 shares remained unchanged in 20,538 agreements.

Associated Bus Transport PLC (ABCTRANS), Beta Glass PLC (Betaglas) and Berger Paints PLC (Berger) leads other retaining with a growth of 10%, 10% and 9.98 each in the price closed at N2.64, N231.10 and N24.80 from N2.40, N210.10.10 and N22.55 per previous share.

Abbey Mortgage Bank PLC (ABBEYBDS), NCR Nigeria (NCR) and Vitafoam PLC (Vitafoam) lead other prices with 7.50%, 7.09% and 6.64% decreased each in the stock price to be closed at N5.55, N5.50 and N60.50 from N6.00 before, N5.92 and N6.80 per share.

In the volume index, the First City Monument Bank (FCMB) led trade with 40 million shares in 365 agreements, followed by the United Bank of Africa PLC (UBA), which was traded 36 million shares in 1, 067 agreement.

Access Holding PLC (Accesscorp) traded 35 million shares in 1, 362 offers.

In the value index, the Petroleum Development Co. sept. (Seplat) emerged as the top stock traded, collecting N1.6 billion in 247 agreements, followed by Zenith Bank PLC (Zenithbank), who traded equity worth N1.4 billion in agreement 1, 010.

MTN Nigeria (MTNN) traded shares worth N1.4 billion in 830 agreements.
