Niger Assembly approved the request of Gov Bago for the N70BN bonds

The Niger State Council Council on Tuesday approved the request of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago for N70 billion bonds to fund infrastructure projects in the state.

This follows the adoption of the DPR’s permanent committee report on finance presented by its chairman, Aliyu Sheshi Wushishi, at the plenary in Minna.

In his presentation, the chairman said the committee conducted a comprehensive review of the request and was involved with stakeholders, including the Ministry of Finance, the Niger State Planning Commission, the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, and the Debt Management Office, about the bond issue.

He added that the committee found that the request was part of the ₦ 100 billion NCNI private bonds for 10 years.

The DPR unanimously adopted the committee’s recommendations and agreed to the request.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji, ordered a house officer to send approval to the Governor.
