As Nigeria celebrates its 64th Independence Day, Ola Olukoyede, Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), reiterated the agency’s commitment to eradicating corruption.
In an Independence Commemoration message shared on the EFCC’s official X account, @officialEFCC, Olukoyede stressed the need for increased dedication to tackling economic and financial crimes, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s New Hope Agenda.
Speaking from Abuja, he stated, “At the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, we are resolute in our fight against corruption in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s New Hope Agenda.”

He urged Nigerians to collaborate with the Commission in efforts for reform, progress and sustainable development. “Ahead of our 64th Independence, let us continue to move forward in realizing reform, progress and sustainable development,” he added.
Olukoyede expressed optimism about Nigeria’s potential for progress, and emphasized that with commitment and passion, the country can overcome corruption. “We can make Nigeria bigger. We can rule the world. We can eradicate corruption!” he stated.
His remarks served as a call for Nigerians to actively engage in the eradication of corruption, and emphasized that collective efforts are essential to achieving a better future.
