Nigeria completed an emergency evacuation plan for residents in Israel, Iran in the midst of increasing tension

The federal government has announced that they completed an urgent evacuation plan for Nigerian citizens who were stranded in Israel and Iran, because military tensions between the two Middle Eastern countries increased dangerous.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and signed by a spokesman Kimiebi Ebienfa, the government urged all Nigerians affected to immediately reach the nearest Nigerian Embassy or diplomatic mission for registration and instructions.

This step occurred in the midst of greater concerns over the safety of Nigerian citizens who were trapped in the intensified conflict of conflict.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wants to inform that, after the escalation of the crisis between the State of Israel and the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Federal Government is completing the regulation for Nigerian emergency evacuation that was stranded in both countries,” the statement said in part.

The government praised the fast efforts of the Nigerian embassy in Tel Aviv and Tehran, noting their proactive outreach to the Nigerian community as long as what was described as “difficult times.” Officials also confirm that preparation is being carried out in coordination with international partners and local authorities to ensure safe and timely evacuation.

While no numbers are given regarding the number of Nigerians who are currently affected, sources in the ministry show that hundreds of students, business travelers, and diaspora families may be risky.

Minister officials emphasized the importance of following security guidelines, especially in conflict zones where civil safety cannot be predicted and quickly deteriorated.

The government also uses the opportunity to renew its call for peace in the region.

“Nigeria stands firmly in its support for the resolution of peaceful conflicts,” the ministry said. “We urge all parties involved to embrace dialogue, respect the law of international humanity, and prioritize the protection of civilians.”

Nigeria, with old diplomatic relations in the region, consistently advocates for negotiated settlements and humanitarian protection during conflict.

Further updates on evacuation logistics will be communicated through official channels in the coming days, the Ministry said.
