The Rwanda Captain, Djihad Bizimana, insists that his team is in a good mood before his classification clash of the FIFA 2026 World Cup against Nigeria.
The Amavubi remain undefeated in the qualifiers, sitting on group C with seven points of four games.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles with some of the best talents in Africa are desperate to change their campaign after a bad start.
Despite the team full of Nigeria stars, Bizimana argues that Rwanda is not intimidated, focusing on her own game.
“There is nothing to worry about. We already met them twice, and I think most of them are here, so there is nothing to worry about, said Al Ahli during the press conference prior to the game on Thursday.
“We respect them as a great team with great names, but as players, we are really focused on what we are doing in training.”
Bizimana further emphasized the determination of Rwanda, promising an energetic performance in Kigali.
“We will go and try to give 100%, even 150%, because we know they are a good team and really want to win this game to return to the top.”
Super Eagles under pressure
Nigeria, despite its quality on paper, has fought in the qualifiers, winning only three points of four games.
His lack of dominance in recent matches has emboldened the opponents, which makes each game a battle.
A convincing victory against Rwanda would not only rekindle the hopes of the Nigeria World Cup, but also send a strong message to the rest of group C, including Zimbabwe, who visit UYO next week.
The Amavubi, on the other hand, know that a victory here would keep them in the pole position for a first historical qualification of the World Cup.
Since both teams have both at stake, the clash at the Amahoro stadium promises to be an exciting contest.
The Super Eagles face the Amavubi tonight in a match that must win at the Amahoro stadium in Kigali, with the start ready for 5 pm
