Nigeria and Egypt will lead accusations for qualifications to the ITTF 2026 World Team Championship in London, when the Top Benua team gathered in Tunis, Tunisia, for the African ITTF 2025 championship.
This game is billed between 12 and 19 October.
London 2026 marks a one hundred years of historical celebration, returning the world championship to the city where everything began in 1926.
The Tunis tournament functions as an official African qualification event, with the best Male and Women’s teams to secure their place on the grandest sports stage.
In the Male Division, Nigeria – the dominant power of West Africa – and Egypt – North African power plant – will join Tunisia, Algeria, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, Uganda, Ethiopia, South Africa, Angola, Camerun, Kongo Brazzaville, Republic of Benin, Dr. Congo, and Moroko.
The Field of Women featuring Egypt, Nigeria, Republic of Benin, Ghana, Ethiopia, Botswana, Ivory Coast, Uganda, Madagascar, Dr. Kongo, Cameroon, South Africa, Angola, Algeria, and Tuan Tunisia of the host.
With London visible, battles for qualifications will increase over the past three days of a continental tournament, where all eyes will be fixed on Nigeria and Egypt when they renew their multilevel competition.
According to ITTF, London 2026 will feature 64 teams at the Male and Women-Expansion event from the previous 40 team format. This growth reflects the global rise of table tennis and opens the door for more countries to compete at the highest level.

This tournament will be revealed in two iconic places of London.
The copper box will host the opening round from April 28 to May 1, followed by the main draw at Wembley Arena from 2 to 10 May, where the world elite will compete to get the grand prize.
Each sex will see 64 teams divided into 16 groups four, with round-robin matches determine development. The main innovation in this format is the introduction of stage 1a and stage 1b:
Phase 1A features the top eight teams (seven host countries plus the highest ranking) divided into two groups. All eight automatically advanced, with the results of the group determining seeding.
Phase 1B includes 56 remaining teams in 14 groups. 14 Group winners and the six second teams in second place passed directly.
The eight teams left in second place entered the initial knockout system, with four winners completing the main 32-TIM draw.
From the first service in the copper box to the last point in Wembley, London 2026 promised to celebrate not only the power of global table tennis today but also an extraordinary journey that began in the same city a century ago.
