Nigeria needs a spiritual and structural rebirth – Pastor Fisho

Amid economic hardship and national uncertainty, the Chief Pastor of the City of Truth and Grace Assembly (CTGA), Pastor Dipo Fisho, on Sunday called for the spiritual and structural rebirth of Nigeria, saying faith is the substance needed to change the fortunes of the nation.

Speaking to journalists during the Easter service in Abuja, the cleric shared the vision of a prosperous future, declaring that Nigeria will be a great country and that Nigerians will prosper through the establishment of the leadership that the nation truly deserves.

He stated that this transformation is possible through the power of God’s spirit and the establishment of principled government.

When asked about how faith can address systemic problems such as poverty, corruption and inequality, he said faith provides the evidence needed for change even when progress seems slow.

He urged citizens to remain kind, confident and persevering in all endeavors, trusting that anything can be resolved with faith.

He said every great leader in the Bible was guided by the Word of God, specifically citing “justice, peace and helping the poor” as essential pillars for policymakers.

On the topic of economic empowerment, he argued that while capital is important, it can be misused without a foundation of hope. But “with faith and hope… God blesses him, he becomes more, he multiplies”.

Pastor Fisho does not mince his words about the responsibilities of the current administration, especially regarding the most vulnerable and the rising tide of insecurity. The Bible speaks of ‘he who gives to the poor lends to God…’ We must not neglect the poor. We must not trample on the poor.”

He also challenged the government to decisively address the ongoing violence in the country, saying that bloodshed is not good for a nation and that the authorities have the means to stop it.

As Nigeria continues to face current challenges, the Man of God’s message serves as a reminder that for many, the path to economic and social stability is inextricably linked to a foundation of righteousness and divine guidance.
