Nigeria not better than Angola – Peseiro

On Friday, Nigeria and Angola will kick off the quarter-final round of the Africa Cup of Nations at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium.

While Nigeria has pu on display an impressive defensive shift throughout the campaign, Angola have been in blistering form in front of goal.

The teams have cancelled each other out in their previous meetings – 1 win each and 2 draws – but Friday’s game is the first time both nations meet in the AFCON.

Speaking in the pre-match presser on Thursday Peseiro played down on his team’s favorite tag.

The Portuguese insists that the reference is a creation of the media, and that Angola deserves more respect.

“It’s 50-50; when we enter that pitch tomorrow, Angola and Nigeria start at 0-0,” said the Super Eagles coach. “They are a very good team and we respect them.”

“Me and my team we just want to win and that is our focus, the idea of s being favorite is just Media talk.”
