Nigeria Ogunsakin Wins 2025 African Junior Championship

The only representative of Nigeria, Seun Ogunsakin, has become the 2025 African Junior Championship champion in Egypt.

Ogunsakin, who delivered a remarkable performance during the tournament, surpassed its Botswana Ntungamili to ensure the title.

The path of Nigerian teenage sensation towards the final was a walk in the park, defeating his opponent in two consecutive sets, on the way to reach the final.

Ogunsakin, former number one player of the African U-14, defeated Darmoul Ahmed from Tunisia, seed number four of the tournament, 6-2, 6-3 to establish a final confrontation against Ntungamili.

The Botswana player won all his games without dropping a set, and reached the final after seeing the impressive the Aouni Reda, in two very close sets of 7-6 (5), 6-1.

The Junior African championship is a tournament for the best U-16 players of the continent, selected according to the ITF Junior ranking.

Nigeria Ogunsakin is the best classified player in competition and seed number one.
