An investigative reporter with Nigerian Ripples, Arinze Chijioke and nine others has been chosen for fellowship of biodiversity reporting, which is held with the support of the Earth Journalism Network (EJN).

Fellowship, which will take place from August 27 to October 2025, starting with a capacity building workshop in Abuja, with a session handled by Dr. Stella Egbe, a senior conservation manager at the Nigeria Conservation Foundation, Abdulkareem Mojeed, from the Premium Times and Kadinde Ogunyale, data journalist in Datapapye.

During the session, Mojeed said that Fellows should try to move beyond the surface and tell stories that are truly important. He stressed that biodiversity is not only about forests, rivers, or animals but also about humans.

“This is about farmers who lose their livelihoods, people who fight against oil spills, and culture related to the ecosystem that is now under threat,” he said.
